The RESEARCH and PLANNING process begins with discussions about the visual design and the technical functionality. Your preferences will be identified with emphasis on the color scheme, style, theme and typefaces. You will also be asked to provide websites that you like and dislike—websites that are related or competitive to your business or profession as well as unrelated sites for inspiration and ideas. Technical functionalities such as portfolio or photo gallery, e-newsletter, shopping cart, etc. can be integrated to the site and need to be determined and taken into consideration during this time. A site map will be constructed at the end of the planning stage before moving onto the design stage.
Before the DESIGN and REVIEW process can begin, ALL content for the site must be submitted, including a complete site map and a draft with images to be used for the site. At least two designs will be presented based on preferences and the directions explored in the planning stage. The selected direction will be modified for the final design with your feedback. Once the finalized design has been approved, development will begin.
The DEVELOPMENT, TESTING AND REVIEW stage is where the visual design is converted into web pages and templates (HTML/PHP). You will be provided access to the development site while it’s being built. Once the site has been completed, platform compatibility testing will be performed on both PCs and MACs using various browsers. You will be given time to review until all aspects of the site are ready to go live.
The SITE LAUNCH stage begins once development has been completed. The site will be moved to the actual hosting server and a basic search engine submission to Yahoo and Google will be performed—thus completing the process of designing and building the site.
A one-time TRAINING session (by phone) as well as a written TUTORIAL package (online) will be provided to you to ensure your full understanding of the site—how it is constructed and how to update the site (text only). Technical support is available for 30 days after site launch. If needed, additional training is available at our hourly rate.
